Managing My Availability

Your availability is controlled through four layers: general availability, lesson-specific availability, overrides, and out-of-office. These settings stack, and the system always follows the most specific rule, with priority from bottom to top: general → lesson-specific → overrides → out-of-office.

General Availability

Your general availability is your default weekly schedule—these are the hours you're typically open for lessons. If no other rules are set, this is what the platform uses when showing your open times to clients.

Lesson-Specific Availability

Lesson-specific availability is completely optional. It lets you set custom hours for a particular lesson type—for example, if you only want to do online lessons on weekday evenings. If you don’t set any lesson-specific availability, we’ll simply use your general availability across all lesson types. If you set custom availability for just one lesson type, the others will still default to your general availability.

Overrides

Overrides let you manually open or block specific times on specific days, even if they fall outside your general or lesson-specific availability. These are useful for one-off changes and take priority over both general and lesson-specific rules.

Out-Of-Office

Out-of-office blocks off entire days or longer periods—like holidays or vacations—and overrides everything else. Once you set it, clients won’t be able to book you at all during that timeframe.

Syncing Your Calendar

If you’ve synced your personal calendar(s) under the Calendars tab and enabled conflict checking, we’ll automatically block off any events marked as “busy” so you don’t get double booked. This sync runs continuously in the background and works alongside your other availability rules.
