2024, Ontario high school applicants: McMaster made 21,072 offers to 34,082 applicants. In 2024, 61% of new students had an admission average of 90% or more.
Grades aren't everything
Engineering, iBioMed, Computer Science and B.Tech need a supplementary application with three video answers and one written answer. Health Sciences, Arts & Science, Integrated Business and Humanities, Integrated Science and Wilson College have their own. Nursing uses Casper (20% of the decision). Midwifery adds a survey and interviews.
How your marks are counted
Ontario: six Grade 12 U or M courses including ENG4U and your program's required courses. McMaster may look at Grade 11 marks for an early review but won't refuse you on them. If you repeat a course, it uses the higher mark, for up to two courses. BC: five approved academic Grade 12 courses including English and your program's required courses. Applied design, career education, PHE and faith-based courses don't count, except Economics 12. Send first-semester grades by February 15.

From McMaster's Cost Estimator, tuition only. Science costs Canadians the same and international students $47,535.30. Engineering costs $12,694.70 for Ontario residents, $15,892.61 for other Canadians and $69,353.54 for international students. Business costs $9,541.80, $11,945.10 and $50,003.40; Computer Science $9,290.10, $10,211.70 and $56,232.60.

What is McMaster's acceptance rate?
McMaster doesn't advertise one, but its Fact Book shows it made 21,072 offers to 34,082 Ontario high school applicants in 2024, or 62%. It doesn't publish rates for single programs. In 2024, 61% of new students had an admission average of 90% or more.
What do you need to get into McMaster Health Sciences?
At least 90% for Honours Health Sciences (BHSc), with ENG4U, SBI4U, SCH4U, a 4U math and one 4U or 4M course outside math, science and technology. You also complete a supplementary application, due in early to mid February 2027. McMaster plans for 240 first-year students.
What average do you need to get into McMaster?
McMaster publishes anticipated ranges for Fall 2027. Life Sciences and Medical Radiation Sciences are in the mid 90s, Kinesiology the low 90s, and Business the mid to high 80s. Humanities is in the low 80s and Social Sciences the low to mid 80s. Some programs publish a minimum instead: Computer Science, Health Sciences and iBioMed 90%, Integrated Business and Humanities 88%, Engineering 87%.
What are McMaster's medical school requirements?
McMaster's MD takes three years. You need three years of undergraduate courses, a GPA of at least 3.0 on the OMSAS scale, an MCAT CARS score of at least 123 (the other sections don't count) and Casper. Applications for 2027 closed October 1, 2026. The class that started in 2026 averaged a 3.94 GPA and a 129 CARS score; 216 were admitted from 5,793 applicants.
Which McMaster programs need a supplementary application?
Engineering, iBioMed, Computer Science and B.Tech share one, due January 28, 2027 (McMaster recommends November 26, 2026). Arts & Science, Integrated Business and Humanities, Integrated Science and Wilson College are due February 1, 2027, and Health Sciences in early to mid February. Business has an optional one due April 30, 2027.
