Getting in

Can I get into York?

Tell us two things and we'll show where you'd sit among the students York admitted.

Overall

York doesn't publish an acceptance rate or how many offers it makes. It lists the lowest average each program may consider, from the low to mid 70s up to the low 90s.

Grades aren't everything

Grades only for most programs. Schulich's BBA needs a supplementary application (leadership profile, video interviews and timed writing) that counts for 50%. Design, Music and other arts programs need a portfolio, audition or questionnaire. Concurrent Education needs a Supplementary Information Form. No Casper.

How your marks are counted

Ontario: six 4U or M courses including ENG4U and your program's required courses. Early offers can use Grade 11 marks, and if you repeat a course York uses the higher grade. BC: English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 plus the Grade 12 courses your program lists; York doesn't say how it calculates the BC average. Each program also sets the final average you need to keep your offer.

Cost

What will my first year cost?

York charges per credit; these are 30 credits of tuition, before $43.95 a credit in supplementary fees. Engineering (36 credits) costs $11,715.84 for Ontario residents, $13,296.60 for other Canadians and $47,165.40 for international students. Computer Science costs $8,820.00, $10,010.40 and $37,825.20, and the Schulich BBA $10,565.10, $11,017.20 and $43,985.10.
