Getting in

Can I get into Queen's?

Tell us two things and we'll show where you'd sit among the students Queen's admitted.

Overall

Queen's doesn't publish an acceptance rate. Its Fall 2025 incoming class averaged 90.5%.

Grades aren't everything

Grades only for most programs. Commerce, Health Sciences and Nursing need a Supplementary Application: one written answer and one video. Music needs an audition and interview. No Casper.

How your marks are counted

Ontario: six Grade 12 U or M courses including ENG4U and your program's required courses. Engineering's average uses only its five required courses. BC: four academic Grade 12 courses including English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12. If you repeat a course, Queen's uses your most recent mark.

Cost

What will my first year cost?

Commerce costs $16,613.19 for Ontario residents, $20,786.37 for other Canadians and $60,839.46 for international students. Engineering costs $12,152.92, $15,205.48 and $59,283.74. Computing is priced separately.

After your first degree

Planning a professional degree?

Medicine, law and the rest start after university, not after Grade 12. Pick one to see what it asks for.

What is Queen's acceptance rate?

Queen's doesn't publish one. For Fall 2025 it received 59,533 first-year applications and enrolled 5,477 first-year students, but each student can apply to up to three programs, so those numbers don't give an acceptance rate. The Fall 2025 incoming class averaged 90.5%.

What average do you need to get into Queen's?

Queen's publishes the minimum average it considered last September and says the real cutoff can be higher. Commerce was 90+. Health Sciences, Nursing and Concurrent Education Kinesiology were in the low 90s. Computer Engineering and Mechatronics were in the high 80s. Engineering, Computing, Life Science and Kinesiology were in the mid 80s. Arts, Science and Music were in the low 80s.

What are Queen's medical school requirements?

Queen's four-year MD needs at least 15 full university courses by June 30 of the year you start, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, an MCAT of 500 with 125 in each section, and Casper. The Class of 2030 averaged a 3.79 GPA and a 512 MCAT. Applications for 2027 closed October 1, 2026.

How much is Queen's tuition?

For 2026-27, first-year Arts and Science tuition is $6,204.60 for Ontario residents, $7,762.80 for other Canadians and $44,809.80 for international students. Commerce costs $16,613.19, $20,786.37 and $60,839.46. Engineering costs $12,152.92, $15,205.48 and $59,283.74.

March 1, 2027 for most programs. Commerce, Health Sciences and Nursing are due February 1, 2027, and their Supplementary Application is due February 15. The Major Admission Awards application, including the Chancellor's Scholarship, is due December 8, 2026.
