Western doesn't publish an acceptance rate. Its 2023-24 entering average was 90.9%.
Grades aren't everything
Grades only for most programs. Engineering needs the Casper test, Music an audition or interview, Fine Arts a portfolio, and Commercial Aviation Management a supplementary form. Ivey AEO is a separate application.
How your marks are counted
Ontario: six Grade 12 U or M courses including ENG4U; Western looks at your program's required courses and your highest Grade 12 marks, and also considers Grade 11. BC: five academic Grade 12 courses, always including English, then your top courses. You need at least 70% in each required course.

Engineering costs $12,539.00 for Ontario residents, $15,688.00 for other Canadians and $64,310.00 for international students. Management and Organizational Studies and Computer Science cost Canadians $8,077.00. Western labels its 2026-27 fee schedule a draft.

What is Western's acceptance rate?
Western doesn't publish one. It publishes typical admission averages for each program instead, from the low 80s to the high 80s to low 90s, and says no average guarantees admission.
When is the Western application deadline?
January 15, 2027, through OUAC, for equal consideration. Ivey AEO applications are due the same day. Music audition registration is due February 1 and the Fine Arts portfolio February 15, 2027.
What average do you need to get into Western?
Western publishes last year's typical ranges, not cutoffs. Engineering, Health Sciences and Nursing were in the high 80s to low 90s, Kinesiology in the high 80s, Medical Sciences and Management and Organizational Studies in the mid to high 80s, Science, Social Science and Computer Science in the low to mid 80s, and Arts and Humanities in the low 80s. You also need at least 70% in each required course.
How much is Western tuition?
For 2026-27, first-year Arts, Social Science or Science tuition is $6,171.00 for Ontario residents, $7,719.00 for other Canadians and $47,493.00 for international students. Engineering costs $12,539.00, $15,688.00 and $64,310.00.
What do you need for Ivey AEO?
Ivey AEO is how high school students apply to Ivey Business School's HBA program. Ivey asks for a low 90% average in your best Grade 12 courses, including English, plus one Grade 12 university-prep math course, an essay and a Kira video interview. Applications are due January 15, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Ivey says about 75% of its HBA class are former AEO students.
